Process and Methodology

Our process has been developed over many years by gathering industry best practices and client feedback, then refining each step. You will find our process to be well defined yet highly flexible as it adapts to your requirements. Your company’s success and satisfaction is our primary goal and we maintain that focus throughout the search process.

Initial Consultation - We work with you to understand and document the position requirements, performance objectives, and the unique skills needed for a successful individual to fill the position. This dynamic process will take place through on-site visits to your corporate headquarters as well as ongoing discussions with any individual who might influence the candidate selection.

Performance Profile - Based on this information, we then develop and execute a detailed performance profile for your approval. By preparing performance objectives this way, as opposed to a traditional position description, the balance between team and individual competencies is better understood. More importantly, it gets hiring managers and other interviewers to shift their decision-making away from subjective criteria like skills and experience and toward something more measurable: past performance doing comparable work. When you think about it, it's what people do with what they have that determines their success, not the absolute level of their skills, experiences, and competencies. A performance profile captures this information in a very simple way.

Often overlooked, this piece is paramount to a successful search. Not only does this document serve as a "hook" to a potential candidate but it also serves as a marketing piece to generate buzz about this position and about your organization within the industry. We take pride in presenting our client opportunities in the most attractive way possible.

Research - Next we research and identify target companies, begin sourcing qualified candidates, and then identify, contact and evaluate individuals within the targeted companies. We will also arrange regular updates with you and your team to constantly refine our target list.

Interviews - Our proprietary executive assessment tools are used to begin the assessment process. Our first step is administering an online assessment, which has been developed by industry-leading industrial/organizational psychologists, that can be conveniently scheduled around any executive's busy schedule. We then use this information during our in-person interviews while reviewing each individual's track record and past behavior as they relate to your needs. This engaging and dynamic process will be tailored to your needs for a particular management position and will be used to benchmark each candidate's strengths and weaknesses against one another and against your requirement.

Candidate presentation - Only qualified individuals who meet the search criteria are ultimately presented to you. We summarize these candidates and their qualifications through a detailed candidate profile and/or in-person discussions. We will then work with you to coordinate your interview activities with the candidate(s).

Final candidate(s) selection - Upon selection of the final candidate(s), we conduct a detailed reference check of former employers and peers. Upon request, we also perform a thorough background verification for the candidate who receives the offer.

Negotiation - Negotiate/assist in negotiations of employment offer and terms.

Onboarding - We work directly with the new hire and the management team to ensure a smooth transition for all parties. We conduct further assessments and create a framework for success through the first 90 days. Our process is well-defined with measurable results for both client and candidate. The results are enhanced communication and a balanced, clear determination of expectations for organizational success.
